Padmini ramachandran
Padmini (12 June 1932 – 24 September 2006) was an Indian actress and trainedBharathanatyam dancer who has acted in over 250 Indian films. She has acted in theTamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi language films. Padmini along with her elder sisterLalitha and her younger sister Ragini, were called "Travancore sisters"..Padmini was born and raised in Thiruvananthapuram in what was then the princely state ofTravancore (now the Indian state of Kerala). She was the second daughter of Thankappan Pillai and Saraswathi Amma.[1] Her sisters, Lalitha and Ragini, were also well known film actresses. Together, the three were known as the Travancore sisters.[2] Padmini and her sisters learnt bharathanatyam from Vazhuvoor B. Ramaiah Pillai. The trio was also the disciples of Indian dancer Guru Gopinath. They learnt "Kerala Natanam" style of dancing from him. Film director P. Subramaniam, noticed her talents while she was presentingParijatha Pushpapaharanam in Thiruvananthapuram.
